Price/Market Supply/Certification (Sustainability)
Golden silk nanmu is one of the highest quality woods among nanmu species and is highly valued. Its market price is relatively high. It is not regulated by the CITES Appendices (Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora) and is not listed in the IUCN Red List of Threatened Species. However, it may be regulated in the near future.
Review
Freshly cut golden silk nanmu has a yellow-brown color with a slight green tint and reflects golden threads under sunlight, which is referred to as “golden silk.” Due to its stability, resistance to warping and cracking, and durability, it is commonly used to make high-end interior decorations, handicrafts, musical instruments, and utensils.
